How it works
-
The institution is divided
into several locations on
the department level,
building level, floor level,
and room level
-
Assets are divided into
(primary assets) headings,
such as furniture; then into
(secondary assets) headings,
such as chairs and tables;
each secondary heading is
divided into (third level)
headings, such as waiting
room chairs
-
Assets are then each
barcoded sequentially in
each location for easier
auditing and tracking
purposes
-
The program offers the
options of re-arranging
assets
-
The program offers the
option of removing an asset
from inventory for reasons
such as giving them away as
gifts, donations, selling
them, or for destruction
-
The program gives the option
of automated auditing and
stock calculation through
barcode reading machines,
and generates related
reports on findings
